Özet

Braking pressure and sliding velocity can affect wear behavior of brake pad material, so sliding velocity and braking pressure is often regarded as the key factor in defining quality performance of this material. For this reason, Taguchi Method has been used to screen the variables that have significant effects on the wear rate. Furthermore, an integrated approach of Taguchi Method and Response Surface Methodology has been employed to improve an empirical model for predicting wear rate and optimization of control factors. It has been observed that an integrated approach based on Taguchi Method and Response Surface Methodology gives 15.45% lower wear rate as compared to optimal results obtained from Taguchi method. © 2019, Murat Yakar.
