dc.description.abstractDemiryolu taşımacılığı, içerisinde bulundurduğu avantajlar sayesinde dış ticarette önemli bir taşıma türü olmaktadır. Bu açıdan ülkeler dış ticarette taşımacılık faaliyetlerinin gelişebilmesi açısından yürüttükleri yatırım politikalarında hâlihazırda var olan karayolu ağ bağlantısının yanı sıra demiryolu ağ bağlantısı da desteklenmeye yönelik çalışmalar yapmaktadırlar. Türkiye demiryolu bağlantısı bölgesel bazda gelişme göstermiş fakat söz konusu gelişmelerin devamına da açık potansiyel taşımaktadır. Demiryolu bağlantısı ile ülke içindeki ticari faaliyetler ve yolcu taşıması yürütülebildiği gibi dış ticaret kapsamında da fayda sağlanabilmektedir. Türkiye dış ticaretinde diğer taşımacılık türlerine alternatif olması, maliyet ve elleçleme gibi avantajlar yaratması nedeniyle demiryolu taşımacılığı dış ticareti besleme noktasında önem taşımaktadır. Bu husustan yola çıkarak bu çalışmada Türkiye dış ticaretinde demiryolu taşımacılığının mevcut durumu incelenmiş ve stratejik önemi ele alınmıştır. Çalışmada mevcut raporlar, istatistiki bilgiler, uzman görüşleri dikkate alınarak SWOT analizi tekniği kullanılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda düşük maliyet, mevcut ağ bağlantısı, Türkiye iş gücü potansiyeli ve üretim gücü gibi hususlar güçlü yön olarak belirlenmiştir. Bunun yanı sıra liberalleşen taşımacılık operasyonları, modern olmayan ağlar, yüksek altyapı maliyeti ve eğitim kurumlarındaki yetersiz eğitim zayıf yön olarak tespit edilmiştir. Jeopolitik konum, demiryolu projeleri ve dış ticaret iş hacmindeki istikrarlı artış fırsat; politik istikrarsızlık, denizyolu ve karayolunun dış ticaret taşımalarında aktif rol alması ve demiryolunun işletim maliyetleri tehdit olarak belirlenmiştir.
dc.description.abstractRailway transportation is an important type of transportation in foreign trade thanks to its advantages. In this respect, countries work to support the railway network connection as well as the existing road network connection in their investment policies in order to develop transportation activities in foreign trade. Türkiye's railway connection has developed on a regional basis, but it also has the potential for the continuation of these developments. With the railway connection, commercial activities and passenger transportation within the country can be carried out, as well as benefits within the scope of foreign trade. Railway transportation is important in terms of feeding foreign trade as it is an alternative to other types of transportation in Turkey's foreign trade and creates advantages such as cost and handling. Based on this issue, in this study, the current situation of railway transportation in Turkey's foreign trade is examined and its strategic importance is discussed. SWOT analysis technique was used in the study, taking into account existing reports, statistical information and expert opinions. As a result of the research, issues such as low cost, existing network connection, Turkey's workforce potential and production power were determined as strengths. In addition, liberalized transportation operations, non-modern networks, high infrastructure costs and inadequate education in educational institutions have been identified as weaknesses. Geopolitical location, railway projects and the steady increase in foreign trade business volume provide opportunities; Political instability, the active role of maritime and road transport in foreign trade transportation, and the operating costs of the railway have been identified as threats.
