dc.description.abstract | This study investigated some oxide material's gamma radiation shielding properties. For this purpose, gamma radiation attenuation properties of composites formed by metal oxides MoO2, La2O3, PbO, and their mixtures were examined at 50 keV, 80 keV, 120 keV, 662 keV, 1173 keV, and 1332 keV energies. Calculations were made using the Geant4-based GATE simulation and compared with the XCOM program. Using the theoretically calculated mass attenuation coefficient (MAC), linear attenuation coefficient (LAC), half-value thickness (HVL), and mean free path (MFP) parameters were found. As a result of the study, it was seen that especially the Mo(80)LaPb mixture showed the best gamma shielding property with high MoO2 content. | |
