Öğe A Socioeconomic Analysis in Terms of Household Digital Technology Ownership(Sosyoekonomi Soc, 2023) Canatan, Behice; Ozbilge, Gokhan; Ipek, EgemenIn this study, individuals may be willing to have digital technology ownership for purposes such as employment, personal development, and/or e-commerce, as well as their income and sociodemographic characteristics. In this direction, the study aims to investigate the effects of preferred technology applications in the household and income and sociodemographic factors that impact digital technology ownership in Turkiye. For this purpose, Turkstat 2021 Household Information Technologies Usage Research Micro Data Set and generalised ordered logit method were used. The findings indicate that more than income alone is needed to expand digital technology ownership, and related factors such as e-commerce, e-skills, and online course taking should also be addressed.Öğe Dynamics of Digital Financial Inclusion in Türkiye(Istanbul Univ, Sch Business, 2024) Canatan, Behice; Akboz-Caner, Ayse; Ozbilge, GokhanThis study examined the dynamics of different levels of digital financial inclusion (DFI) in T & uuml;rkiye within the framework of individuals' basic financial behaviours and socioeconomic conditions and investigated factors that may affect the utilisa-tion rate of DFI. Accordingly, findings from the 2017-2021 World Bank Global Findex dataset were estimated using the ordered logit model. The concept of DFI, which is becoming increasingly important, underscores that financial systems should have two basic conditions. First, the ability of those who can access financial systems digitally should be as high as possible. Second, these actors with access to financial systems should also have sufficient utilisation rates of the relevant financial instruments. In this respect, by focusing on the determinants of this second condition, the study fills a gap in the literature and provides clues for policy recommendations. These findings provide empirical evidence for our motivation. In this respect, the results clearly show that socioeconomic factors, such as education level and income level, as well as financial behaviours, such as formal savings and borrowing, should be taken into account when expanding DFI.Öğe The Impacts of Financial Resource Management on Financial Worries(Eskisehir Osmangazi Univ, Fac Education, 2024) Ozbilge, Gokhan; Canatan, Behice; Ipek, OzlemThis study aims to investigate the possible causes of totalfinancial worryand COVID-19 induced financial worries, which include all of these in addition to the four common forms of financial worries arising from old age, payments, health, and education, for the Turkish sample.
