Öğe Examining the Relationship Between Pediatric Nurses' Empathy Skills and Pediatric Pain Knowledge and Attitudes(Bingol University, 2024) Düzce, Sezgin; Düzkaya, Duygu Sönmez; Karakul, AtiyeAim: The aim of this study is to evaluate the pain of patients hospitalized in pediatric clinics. This study examines the relationship between pediatric nurses' empathy skills and pediatric pain knowledge and attitudes. Method: The sample of this descriptive and cross-sectional study consisted of 94 pediatric nurses. The research data were collected between June-October 2023. "Descriptive Information Form", "Empathic Skills Scale" and "Pediatric Pain Knowledge andAttitude Scale" were used to collect the data. Results: The average age of the pediatric nurses in the study was 30.58±4.48. Pediatric nurses' total mean score on the Empathic Skills Scale was 151.41±24.82; The mean total score of the Pediatric Pain Knowledge and Attitude Scale is 63.78±10.17. A statistically significant relationship was found between pediatric nurses' gender, years of working as a pediatric nurse, participation in an empathy skill development program, and willingly choosing the profession and the total score average of the Empathic Skills Scale. Pediatric nurses' years of working as a nurse and satisfaction with working as a pediatric nurse were found to be statistically significant. It was determined that there was a statistically significant relationship between the Pediatric Pain Knowledge and Attitude Scale total score average. No relationship has been determined between the scales. Conclusion: As a result of this study, it was determined that pediatric nurses' empathy skills and pediatric pain knowledge and attitudes were at a moderate level. In line with the principles of atraumatic care, it is recommended that pediatric nurses be given planned in-service training to improve their empathy skills and have good pain knowledge and attitudes.Öğe Investigation of the Difficulties Experienced by 60-72 Months Children Due to Early School Starting(Bandirma Onyedi Eylul University, 2024) Uysal, Gülzade; Karakul, Atiye; Düzkaya, Duygu Sönmez; Bozkurt, GülçinAim: The aim of this study was to investigate the difficulties experienced by 60-72-month-old children due to early school entry. Material and Method: Qualitative method was used to conduct the study. The sample of the study consisted of 27 parents who met the inclusion criteria. In the study, "Socio-demographic Data Form and Semi-structured Interview Form" prepared by the researchers were used. Qualitative data were evaluated by inductive method, categorised by coding and analysed in MAXQDA software. Results: 55.6% of the children in the study were girls, and the month of starting school was 67.47 ± 2.2. The mean height and weight of the children were 111.89 ± 5.5 and 22.41 ± 3.9, respectively. According to the data obtained from the interviews of the parents, four themes were obtained as physical, cognitive, psychosocial difficulties and behavioural problems. Conclusion: Children aged 60-72 months have physical, cognitive, psychosocial difficulties and behavioural problems. It was determined that children had difficulties with school adaptation and had the most difficulties in carrying bags, fulfilling self-care and writing. According to these results, it can be said that it is not developmentally appropriate for children to start primary school before 72 months.Öğe Mesleğin Başında Hemşirelik Öğrencilerinin Mesleki Algıları: Nitel Bir Çalışma(Ondokuz Mayıs Üniversitesi, 2022) Bozkul, Gamze; Karakul, Atiye; Andı, Senem; Düzkaya, Duygu Sönmez; Eren, Nadiye Barış; Çamcı, GülşahAmaç: Bu çalışmanın amacı; hemşirelik bölümü birinci sınıf öğrencilerinin meslek algılarının değerlendirilmesidir. Yöntem: Meslek algılarının belirlenmesinde nitel; fenomenolojik yöntem kullanılmıştır. Çalışmanın örneklemini dahil edilme kriterlerine uyan 15 hemşirelik öğrencisi oluşturmuştur. Veriler, Colaizzi'nin yedi aşamalı yöntemi doğrultusunda MAXQDA nitel veri analiz programında analiz edilmiştir. Araştırmada bir üniversitenin etik kurulundan yazılı izin, kurum izni ve araştırmaya katılan öğrencilerden aydınlatılmış onam alınmıştır. Bulgular: Görüşmelerden elde edilen veriler doğrultusunda içsel ve dışsal faktörler olmak üzere iki tema, 10 kod ve 12 alt kod elde edilmiştir. Dışsal faktörler teması, pandemi süreci, toplumsal algı ve mesleğin geleceği kodlarından oluşmaktadır. Sonuç: Çalışmanın sonucunda, genel olarak birinci sınıf hemşirelik öğrencilerinin mesleki algılarının olumlu yönde olduğu bulunmuştur. Ayrıca pandemi sürecinde hemşirelerin takdir görmesi, mesleğin öneminin artmasının hemşirelik öğrencilerinin meslek algısı olumlu yönde etkilediği görülmüştür. Bu doğrultuda, hemşirelik öğrencilerinin olumlu mesleki algılarının sürdürülmesi ve mesleki gelişimi için sistemsel düzenlemelerin yapılması önerilmektedir.Öğe ORTAOKUL ÖĞRENCİLERİNİN ÖZ YETERLİLİK DÜZEYİ İLE ACİL DURUMLARLA BAŞA ÇIKMA DURUMLARI ARASINDAKİ İLİŞKİ(İzmir Demokrasi Üniversitesi, 2022) Karakul, Atiye; Düzkaya, Duygu Sönmez; Tanrıverdi, AybükeBu çalışmanın amacı, ortaokul öğrencilerinin özyeterlilik düzeyi ile acil durumlarla başaçıkma durumları arasındaki ilişkinin incelenmesidir. Bu araştırma tanımlayıcı ve kesitselbir çalışmadır. Araştırmanın örneklemini, 427 ortaokul öğrencisi oluşturmaktadır. Araştırma verileri Ekim 2022 tarihinde toplanmıştır. Verilerin toplanmasında Ortaokul Öz-Yeterlilik Ölçeği ve Ortaokul Öğrencilerinin Acil Durumlarla Başa Çıkma Ölçeği kullanılarak, katılımcılara üç basamaklı bir anket formu kullanılmıştır. Çalışmaya ortaokul öğrencilerinin yaş ortalaması 11.98±1.16 olup, öğrencilerin %51.8’i kızdır. Öğrencilerin, Ortaokul Öz-Yeterlilik Ölçek puan ortalaması 151.48±24.51; Ortaokul Öğrencilerinin Acil Durumlarla Başa Çıkma Ölçeği toplam puan ortalaması 68.14±15.01 dir. Ölçekler arasında pozitif yönde ve orta düzeyde ilişki olduğu belirlenmiştir. Yapılan bu çalışmanın sonucunda, öz yeterliliği yüksek olan öğrencilerin acil durumlarla başa çıkma durumlarının yüksek olduğu belirlenmiştir. Yaşadığı çevrede acil durum ile ilgili bilgilendirme yapılan, acil durumla baş etme eğitimi alan ve ebeveyninden güvenlik eğitimi alan ortaokul öğrencilerinin acil durumlarla baş etme durumları yüksektir. Bu nedenle çocuklara, acil durumlar hakkında periyodlarla tekrarlanan eğitimler verilmesi önerilmektedir.Öğe The Effect of Coronavirus Anxiety Level of Parents on the Parent Child Relationship during the Pandemic Process(Cem TIRINK, 2023) Gayretli, Sena; Düzkaya, Duygu SönmezThis research was carried out descriptively between Feb 2021 and Agust 2021 in order to determine the effect of parents' coronavirus anxiety level on the parent-child relationship during the pandemic process. The sample of the study consisted of 450 parents with children aged 6-12 years. The data were collected with the prepared introductory information form, the Coronavirus Anxiety Scale (COA) and the Parent Child Relationship Scale (EPCI). The data were evaluated using the appropriate statistical analyzes in the SPSS program. It was determined that 73.6% of the parents participating in the study were mothers, 62.4% were between the ages of 35-44, and nearly half (45.8%) were university graduates. Material and Method: The sample of the study consisted of breastfeeding mothers of 0-24 months babies who were registered to a Family Health Center in the European part of Istanbul, and the fathers of babies. A total of 110 parents filled out an online questionnaire, which consisted of Socio-demographic Data Form, Fathers Effect on Breastfeeding Scale, and Breastfeeding Attitude Evaluation Scale. Results: Nearly half of the mothers (53%) and 47% of the fathers were between 25 and 34 years old. According to educational status, 54% of the mothers and 53% of the fathers had a university degree. According to working status 56% of the mothers and 96% of fathers were actively working. Mean Breastfeeding Attitude Evaluation Scale score was detected as 161.0±17.94 for mothers, and mean Fathers Effect on Breastfeeding Scale score was detected as 124.32±34.78.
